The aim of this campaign is to increase awareness about the range of opportunities and pathways available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are considering a career in the child and family support sector.
We know how important it is to attract, support and retain highly skilled people who are passionate about achieving the best outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families, and it is our hope that by sharing the stories of those working in the child and family sector, that others will consider becoming part of a team committed to building a better future for kids.
Principal Commissioner Cheryl Vardon and I would like to thank those who have been involved in the development of this campaign, particularly the teams at Mulungu Aboriginal Corporation, Life Without Barriers, and Centacare Brisbane as well as Peak Bodies and other valued stakeholders who have helped to shape this campaign.
We are now seeking your support to share the resources linked below through your social media channels, newsletters, flyers and posters, email or other communication channels. To make things easy, a social media kit with photos, social media messages, signature blocks and plenty more has already been developed.
I also encourage you to watch and share the campaign videos and campaign webpage:
Your help getting this information to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their families and communities, as well as the child and family support sector more broadly, is greatly appreciated.
